I made this card for the color challenge over at  PDCC #150. Here is the inspiration photo.

I know I'm a little early for x-mas cards but i just got these stamps and couldn't wait to use them. I love these colors together but never would have thought of it on my own. I used PTI's framed out #7 and the new Snow Medley stamp sets. I will be using those snowflakes alot this winter. Thanks for visiting!

CPS-283

I have been missing from blog world for quite a while but I have decided to give it another go.  I am looking forward to playing with many more challenges. Today I am playing along with CPS-283 . I am getting this one in at the last minute.  Here is the sketch

I made a halloween card using some of my PTI stamps. I used Mr. Bones and the spiderweb trio dies. They are awesome. I ran the webs through my xyron machine and added fine black glitter to them. I used papers from my minds eye and DCWV.  Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Sending Prayers

Here is another card for PTI's bloghop today. I enjoyed this inspiration photo so much that I did a second card with this inspiration photo:

This time a made a sympathy card. I started with an Aqua mist cardbase. My DP is from October Afternoon. I love that brand of designer paper. I used an embossing folder on the white cardstock. It is from Lifestyle crafts. This was another gift from sister-in-law Tammy who is also my best friend. She's so awesome. It comes in a set of two folders and is called whimsy. I think I might be using this one alot. I really like it. I used the matstack 4 and matstack 4 layerz label die. I used the oval limitless layers on top and added my sentiment from Beautiful Butterfies. This is becoming a go-to stamp set for me. I love the script of the sentiments in this set. I used aqua mist ribbon and some yellow bling to finish it off. I hope everyone has a good week. Thanks for visiting!

March PTI Bloghop

Hello! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I have had a wonderful weekend. It rained all day yesterday so I was able to spend the whole day in my craft room. My husband even took me to cracker Barrel for dinner so I didn't have to cook. I love days like this. I worked on a card for PTI's march bloghop. I loved the colors in this inspiration photo:

I started with a cardbase in harvest gold. This is a new color to me. I just added it to my collection. I love it! The yellow gingham DP is from amuse studios and the other DP is from October Afternoon. I used the celebrations die and cut it twice and layered it. I used the frame from Pretty Peonies and to my surprise it fit perfectly. I stamped it in Harvest Gold. The "easter wishes" sentiment is from the Sweet Spring stamp set. I stamped it in dark chocolate. I stamped and cut out the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set. I added some stardust stickles to them for a little extra sparkle. The ribbon is aquamist. I added a button and some twine.  Aqua mist and Harvest Gold are two colors that work very well together so I really enjoyed this challenge. Thanks for stopping by today!

Matthew's Get Well card

Hello! I made this card for my son who had to have emergency surgery yesterday. He had his appendix removed, everything went well and he's home and doing good (i'm so thankful). He's 21 but all you mothers know how it is. He will always be my baby. It's was a long weekend without alot of sleep for me. Today things seems to be a little more normal. I made him a get well card and used PTI's make it monday challenge: colored kissing. I also used the deconstucted sketch  from Jen Shults. Here it is
I used PTI cardstock and patterned paper from my mind's eye and amuse. I used the Healing Touch Sentiments stamp set and broke up the setiment "get well soon" so I could make it fit in my star. I used a piece of scotch tape for this.  For my colored kissing technique, I used star prints and a border from love songs. It was a really fun technique, but not as easy as Heather made it look. when I tried to stamp the border on the star stamp, it kept sliding and I would have to start all over..lol! The stars are diecut with a quickutz set of dies that I got from the chantily Va scrapbooking expo. The star border is from joy carfts. I wrapped two pieces of twine, one above and one below the border. You can't really use pretty ribbon on a man's card. Although I would love to use ribbon on every card. I hope to find time to try this technique again this week. Thanks for visiting!

Liebster Blog award and a card

Today I was so surprised to see that I had been awarded The Liebster blog award from Cyndie from artfulhaven.blogspot.com. This is an award given to blogs with less than 200 followers. It is such an honor to have fellow crafters checking out my blog. Thanks Cyndie! Cyndies cards are beautiful! Be sure to stop by her blog to see her creations. Okay now for todays card.

Today I am playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 153. Karen has some awesome sketches. I'm so glad I could play along this week. I used GKD lipstick red cardstock and SU patterned paper. I stamped the swirls (hero arts) randomly on the patterned paper with memento rhubarb stalk ink. I used two Martha Stewart punches behind the focal point. The sentiment is from the new Simply You stamp set from PTI. I traced over the sentiment with a sakura glitter pen but I don't think you see this in the picture. I used spellbinders pinking circles behind the sentiment. The ribbon is from Michaels and the flowers and bird embellishment are from my stash. I added dots of red stickles to the background for a little extra sparkle. I had Mother's Day in mind when I made this card. I am also playing along with the Moxie Fab worlds Tuesday Trigger challenge. Here is the inspiration photo:
I was inspired by the colors and the dots. Well that's it for tonight. Thanks for visiting!

Glittered buttons

Hi! I hope everyone is having a good week. I think it is a wonderful week. The weather here in VA is absolutely beautiful! Today I made a card for PTI's Make it Monday Challenge. The challenge was to make a card with glittered buttons. I sprayed my buttons with elmers craft bond multi-purpose spray adhesive and covered them in Hero Arts prisma glitter. They are very sparkly IRL although I don't think my picture shows it well. I began with a Raspberry Fizz card base and I cut ten squares of cardstock and adhered them to a block of kraft cardstock. I punched the flowers with a stampin up punch and some scraps ( I love it when I use scraps!) and adhered them to the squares. I used a PTI's filagree border die and some sparkly holiday ribbon. The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #12.  I used the cardpatterns sketch for this week. Thanks for visiting!

Heart challenge

Its day 7 of PTI's 5th anniversary challenges. Today we were asked to make a card using hearts. This is so easy. I love making heart and valentine's cards. This year I think I have made more than I'm gonna give out. That's a first..lol! I know it's a PTI challenge but I just got these MFT stamps in the mail today and I was dying to use this new set and matching die. If you haven't seen it yet it's called the vertical greetings set. I used all PTI cardstock and the spring moss layer was embossed with PTI's impression plate from the last release. The patterned paper is from October Afternoon's Thriftshop. It's an older paper pad but I really love it. The heart punch is from Martha Stewart. I finished it off with some black pearl bling and tied a button on my bow with some divine twine. I don't have alot to do tomorrow, maybe I can do nichole's day 8 challenge before midnight. But who knows, I seem to be more of a night owl when it comes to crafting. I also entered this in The moxie fab world's die cutting challenge. Thanks for visiting!

For My Grandma

Hello all!  I'm getting this card in kind of late for papertrey's 5th anniversary festivities. Its been a busy day!  I used PTI's sketch # 1. I love them all and will probably use the others too. I made this card for my grandma's birthday. I hope she likes it. I used October Afternoon's Farmhouse DP. This is the first time I have used this book of paper and the Simply Jane stamp set and  I just love them both! I used pti's matstack 5 stamp set for the frame and the oval limitless layers dies for the sentiment. I added some pearls in her hair and cut out some bows for the top of the frame. I would like to thanks everyone for the kind comments you have given me this week. That's about it for tonight. Thanks for visiting!

Pinterest inspiration challenge

Today I am joining in with the PTI pinterest inspiration challenge . I had never checked out pinterest until today and WOW! I love it. It is definitely gonna be my go-to place to get my crafty mojo going. I chose this card from Dawn Mcvey as my inspiration.

I love all of Dawn's cards so it was hard to narrow it down to one picture. You can find her card here.  I used some DP from We are Memory Keepers love struck collection. My sister-n-law gave me this paper pad as a gift and I love it. I have used it alot while making my valentines cards. Thanks Tammy! My cardstock and stamps are all from PTI. I used scarlet jewel and hawaiin shores. I used an older Martha stewart border punch and my stampin up heart punch. I loved Dawn's idea of trimmimg a label down to put my sentiment on. I used the celebrations label. I stamped my sentiment from The Vintage Picnic Sentiments. The little "love you" ticket on the heart is from Love and Marriage and the stamped heart is from 2010 Love Tags. I finished it off with a quickutz button tab diecut, some twine and a some bling. I am enjoying all the challenges PTI is having this week, can't wait to see whats happening tomorrow. Thanks for visiting!

LOVE

Hello blog friends! Today I made a card using the free download from Nichole Heady from Capture the moment blog. PTI is celebrating their 5th anniversary and they are doing all kinds of contests with really generous giveaways. Its a wonderful opportunity to win some really great stamps. I made this card using PTI's raspberry fizz cardstock. The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny's sweet tooth collection. The heart doily is from target. I inked it up with some rapberry fizz ink and trimmed the edge off to fit my card. I distressed the LOVE sentiment (its one of the freebies that nichole gave us)and trimmed it to fit also. Islipped some offray ribbon through one of the fancy tags from spellbinders and stamped the greeting from pti's 2010 love tags. I finished it off with a cute bird embellishment that I picked up at michaels.  I used the Mojo Monday sketch. I had a great time playing along with this challenge and hope to play with some more of the challenges this week. Thanks for visiting!

winter

Good afternoon . Today I made a  wintery card. The snowman is a penny black stamp. Don't you just love him. He is so cute! I started off with some stampin up cardstock. I used Bo Bunny DP for my layers. Behind the snowman is a doily from MFT . The tag was made with stamps from PTI. The striped tag came from tiny tags II and the "winter wishes" is from the winter penguin set. I used twine from the twinery and I glittered the snow with some diamond stickles. Today I am playing along with the sketch from Cardpatterns and the" let it snow" challenge from the One stop craft challenge blog and the color challenge of turquoise, purple and white from the Creative Inspirations blog. Thanks for visiting!

Winter Wishes

Todays card is for the make it monday ruffled ribbon challenge over at PTI. I joined in with the MIM challenge last week and had alot of fun so I figured I would play again.
I started off with a kraft card base and layered it with aquamist. My patterned paper is from the fancy pants Saint Nick 6 x 6 pad. I added my ruffled ribbon just like dawn showed us in the video. I added some recollections bling to it for a little sparkle. I wasnt sure about doing this. Is it too much bling? Next I cut a label  using the fancy tags 3 from spellbinders. I stamped a small snowflake from the winter penguin set all over the label in aquamist ink. I stamped the circle from tag-its 10 and the greeting is from winter penguin. I distressed everything with chai ink. I stamped the big stamp and a small stamp from the mega mehndi madallion set onto cream cardstock and cut them with snowfake dies from Our Daily Bread Designs. I cut two snowflakes in aqua mist to layer them. I added some more bling to finish it off.
Then I realized that I glued everything upside down on my card base...lol!!! I had to cut the whole front off and glue it on another card base to save the card. Thats the first time I have ever done that. Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Make it Monday

Good morning. Today I made a card for the Make it Monday challenge from PTI.  I used the Cardpatterns sketch 142  . Im too late to enter it in the cardpatterns challenge but I loved the sketch.

I started off with a Pure Poppy cardstock A2 base. I used all PTI stamps. The merry christmas is from the  tremendous treats set. I stamped off first and them stamped it many times onto a piece of kraft cardstock. I added some snowflakes from the winter penguin set . I stamped them all over in pure poppy ink ( I didn't stamp off first.) I cut the whole piece into thirds and  inked the edges with chai ink. I cut a solid bracket border (mft) from red CS and adhered it to my largest piece of kraft. I layered black offray ribbon and layered some red fuzzy ribbon ( hobby lobby) on top of the black piece. I glued all three pieces of kraft to my card base.

I cut a classic circle and a scalloped circle from CS. I diecut the penguin and his hat on white CS and stamped the images from the winter penguin set. The seasons greetings is from Tag-its #9. I popped the circle up with foam tape.

I'm not one to make my own BG paper. I usually buy lots and lots of patterned paper,( what an addiction:o) but this was a fun technique and I will be doing in more in the future. Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting!

PTI Blog Hop

Today I decided that I  wanted to play along with the PTI Blog Hop. I have looked at this blog hop many times but its my first time joining in. Here is the inspiration photo:

I used the Mehndi Medallion and Mega Mehndi Medallion PTI stamp sets. I began with some pure poppy cardstock and some patterned paper from the Season's Greetings Ehco Park 6 x 6 pad. I distressed my pieces with  PTI's chamomile ink. I stamped the medallions 4 times. (4 different sizes) and stacked them on top of each other with foam tape for some dimension. I added a button with some twine on top. For the greeting I stamped a piece of white CS with the small medallion several times to make a background.  I didnt have a flag die so I used my square punch to make the V shape at the end of the banner. I stamped the greeting from the Tremendous Treats set in versamark and embossed with gold powder.  I finished it off with a red ribbon. I enjoyed playing along and think I might join in again next month. Thanks for visiting!

Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger

When I saw this week's Tuesday Trigger on the Moxie Fab World Blog, I knew I wanted to make a card using this inspiration photo. I was inspired by so many elements in the photo. I love the wooden headboard , the banner, the ruffles on the pillow and that big fabric flower is adorable.

For this project I started out with some chocolate brown cardstock from GKD. I layered the gingham pattern paper from Amuse studios and some kraft cardstock. I cut a 4in x 5in piece of GKD white  cardstock and scored it at every half inch. I sprayed it with Amaretto memories mist . It still needed something after i sprayed it, it wasnt quite the color that I was looking for, so I took a craft sponge and added some Tim Holtz walnut stain ink. That made it look just like I wanted. I cut a rectange from it and used my medium scalloped die and cut two pieces for the bottom of the card. I used my banner dies to make the banner and stamped some studio G letters on the banner. The heart is a verve stamp. I used Glubers for the first time and made a rolled flower from ribbon. I love the way it turned out, I will definitely be using those more often. I punched the leaves with an EK success punch. I added pearl bling to card to finish it off.  I am also entering this card in the sketch challenge by Sassy Lil' Sketches. Thanks for visiting my blog.

Tuesday Trigger

Welcome to my blog. I was so excited when I saw this week's Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger Inspiration Challenge. I knew exactly what kind of card I wanted to make as soon as I saw the inspiration photo. I was inspired by the beautiful blue floral wall and pillows. I used some Bo Bunny Dp on my card to look like the wall. I was also inspired by the lamps on the two bedside tables. I used a stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett called Lovely shelf. I used stampin up DP to layer my card. This Dp reminded me of the pink roses on the bedside table. I added a satin bow with some pearls in the center. I used nestabilities fancy labels and stamped the sentiment from PTI.  I hope you like this card. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Just for You

Hello, today I finally had some time to post a card on my blog and play along with some challenges. I started off with some DP from the  basic grey indian summer collection. This is one of my favorite collections. I layered it on Gina K Designs Pure Luxury card stock. My stamp is a studio G ditto collection cling stamp. I inked it up with my colorbox chalk cateyes in olive pastel, dark peony, and yellow citrus. I love how this image turned out.  I cut it out with my nesties labels 20 and distressed it with memento angel pink ink. I added some ruffled ribbon behind my diecut and placed some buttons with some cappuccino twine bows. I used my stampin up word window punch to stamp my sentiment on. This was a fun to card to make. Happy Mother's Day

Good Morning! Its another rainy spring day here in virgina. On the bright side it is great card making weather. Today I made a card for my wonderful mom. I started off with a sketch from papertake weekly. I used stampin up cardstock and then layered a pieced of Melissa Frances DP. I layered one strip of pink gingham paper and then on the green stampin up Dp I used an impression obsession floral stamp for the background image. I layered one more strip of pink gingham with hero arts ivory lace on top and then used my bigshot and my nestabilities labels 10 for the die cut. I stamped "mom" from the stampin up set called messages for mom. I bought this set last year and forgot to use it. So I was determined to get it out and get some ink on it this year.  I popped up the die cut with scotch foam. I placed a glue dot in the left hand corner and added 3 pink roses, love those. I added fruit punch stickles to my floral image and the sentiment is from inkindinkado. I disteressed all my pieces lightly with memento rich cocoa ink. I am entering this card in a few challenges:

Thanks Be Unto God

Good morning! Today is beautiful. The sun has finally come out. Today I made another Easter card. This one will be for my grandma. I started off with some webster pages DP. I kinda feel like I cheated with this DP. It so beautiful. It does all the work for you. You don't need to add many layers with this DP. I wrapped some Michaels red ribbon around the card and then added Hero arts Ivory lace over top. I tied the bow and added a beautiful button I got a Joann's. My stamps are from  the GKD Christ is Risen stamp set illustrated by Nina Brackett.  I stamped the cross on Ivory CS and cut it out and popped it up with foam dots. I stamped the sentiment right on the DP and added Bling on the banner at the top.  This card didnt take long to make but i love the way the way it turned out. I'm entering this card in a few challenges:

I was inspired by the colors on the porch.
